As a songwriter/lyricist, I have found that very rarely am I free to write about anything that I haven't experienced for myself, or that someone that I'm connected to has experienced.  Much of what I have written has been inspired by my own experiences and thoughts and many are from the experiences of those connected to me in some way.  This oftentimes leaves me feeling very vulnerable as a writer.  As a songwriter, I open up myself by writing my thoughts and innermost feelings on paper and hand that piece of paper to the world, not knowing whether anyone would like the songs, receive the songs, or even understand the songs.  This is a massive weight that is placed on the shoulders of any songwriter, I believe.  Yet, I write, because I must . . . I have some things that I need to say, and if I keep those things inside, I would not be true to who I really am or the purpose that I have been called to fulfill.
Sing  Lord
Written By Nancy Seymour

There are people singing all around
Sometimes I can’t believe the sounds
The beauty of the voices that I hear
Some pursue the spotlight of the stage,
Aspire to be cutting edge
The pressure’s getting worse from year to year

But I wonder what it sounds like, the echo of Your Voice
Do You find my worship pleasing? Do I make Your Heart rejoice?
You’re the Ultimate Musician of all, You are the King
And I wonder what it would be like, Lord, if I could hear You sing

Now they say that music warms the heart
And singing a good place to start
It’s a product of the joy you feel inside
Lord, I pray that when You look at me
You are happy with the things You see
And You sing because Your child is living right

But I wonder what it sounds like, the echo of Your Voice
Do You find my worship pleasing? Do I make Your Heart rejoice?
You’re the Ultimate Musician of all, You are the King
And I wonder what it would be like, Lord, If I could hear You sing

Sing, sing, sing, Lord—my gifts to You I bring
Sing, sing, sing, Lord—accept my offering
Sing, sing, sing, Lord—may my life reflect Your Truth
Sing, sing, sing, Lord—let me become more like You

But I wonder what it sounds like, the echo of Your Voice
Do You find my worship pleasing? Do I make Your Heart rejoice?
You’re the Ultimate Musician of all, You are the King
And I wonder what it would be like, Lord, if I could hear You sing

Sing, sing, sing, Lord
Sing, sing, sing, Lord
Sing, sing, sing, Lord
Sing, sing, sing, Lord
Sing, sing, sing, Lord
Sing, sing, sing, Lord

Come Back Home
Written By Nancy  Seymour

He finally finds a pay phone
But he can’t hold back the tears
He’d forgotten all the heartache
He had caused them through the years
And he doubts that they’ll remember
That he’s seventeen today
But he stands in sheer amazement
When he hears his mother say

Come back home
We'll be waiting at the door to let you in
Make a change
And never mind the places you have been
There’s no disgrace
We’ve saved your place
Just come back home again

She stands outside his office
Wondering should she go inside
After all could he forgive her
The unfaithfulness and lies
Did her children even miss her
All these months she’d been away
She is startled as he steps outside
And she hears her husband say

Come back home
I’ll be waiting at the door to let you in
Make a change
And never mind the places you have been
There’s no disgrace
I have saved your place
Just come back home again

From the poor and lowly widow
To the richest of us all
God has made us in His likeness
But He knows sometimes we fall
Though your past is not a beauty
There’s no reason for alarm
God is giving you a second chance
And He waits with open arms

God is standing at the door
Don’t let Him pass you by
He will hear you if you call on Him
He will hear your faintest cry

Come back home
God is waiting at the door to let you in
Make a change
And never mind the places you have been
There’s no disgrace
He has saved your place
Just come back home again
Finding Myself
Written By Nancy Seymour

Never quite fittin’ in
Look at all the places that I’ve been
Giving self another name
Wondering if I’d ever the same
As all the people that I see
When all I want to be is me
and only me

(chorus)
So I’m finding myself in You
Finally stepping into the path You’ve made
Lost in this world, I will find myself in You

You came to earth a mortal man
To fulfill Your Father’s perfect plan
The dusty road, the heavy cross
Without You all hope for me was lost
And I would never come to see
That all I need to be is me
and only me

(chorus)

There was a time that I lived in confusion
I was under the world’s control
And I may never live up to the world’s expectation
Who I am is in You, Lord, You are my salvation

(chorus)

Troubles of the Righteous
Written By Nancy Seymour

We come face to face with struggles constantly
With new and different trials everyday
We can rest and be assured of victory
When we read the words King David had to say

(Chorus)
Many are the troubles of the righteous
But God brings us out of them all
Many are the troubles of the righteous
But God brings us our of them all

Who of us have fought more wars than David did
But always in his heart he had a song
Who among us knows that God will not forget
To fight for us when we just can’t go on

(Chorus)

The eyes of God are upon us
The ears of God hear our cries
The heart of God is toward us
As the saints who’ve gone before us testify

(Chorus)
Angels
Written By Nancy Seymour

These are the plans of our enemies that we should run and hide
These are the plans of our enemies that we should surely die
But we will stand, we refuse to fall as we face adversity
For deep within our hearts we believe the truth
And we see what they can’t see

(Chorus)
We are surrounded by angels, the messengers of God
We are protected by angels, no harm will fall on us
We are surrounded, we are surrounded
We are surrounded, we are surrounded

These are the plans that we work towards, our dreams we must fulfill
These are the plans, we want nothing more than to reach our goals, we will
We’re gonna stand. We refuse to fall. There is so much left undone
So now we bravely go for indeed we know that
We’ve already won

(Chorus)

Can you see them all around us
They are here I know it’s true
Can you feel the brush of their wings you must
believe when I tell you

(Chorus)

Can you feel it?
Can you see them?
Can you feel it?
Can you see them?
Can you feel it?
Can you see them?
Can you feel it?
Can you see them?
Can you feel it?
Can you see them?

Listen While I Sing
Written By Nancy Seymour

No pretenses
No closet secrets
No built-up walls
It’s only me
Just as I am
An open book before You
I set apart myself
As only I can do

(chorus)
Please Lord, hear me pray
Listen while I sing
I know You see my heart
But I still need to bring
To You this song of praise
A melody to raise
And honor You, My King
Please listen while I sing

No intrusions
No outside voices
Nobody else
Just You and me
Just as I am
An open book before You
I set apart myself
As only I can do

(chorus)

Sometimes I try to hide the truth
Avoid transparency
But I don’t need to be ashamed
Lord, You have set me free
Set me free

(chorus)
Worship-Pure & Simple
Written By Nancy Seymour

Commercialized, theatrical, everything but meaningful
That is what’s becoming of worship
We go to church, we’re entertained, forgetting there is more to gain
By yielding ourselves to what Your holiness demands

(chorus)
Worship that is worship pure and simple
Worship that is worship tried and true
With my spirit surrendered, a heart that is tender
Lips full of truth and a life that honors You

You gave Your Life, Lord willingly
You suffered that I could be free
That is why I give You my worship
I will go to church, I’ll close my eyes
I’ll sing with my voice lifted high
Just yielding myself to what Your holiness demands

(chorus)

True worship is worshipping You, Jesus
True worship is worshipping You
True worship is worshipping You, Savior
True worship is worshipping You

With my spirit surrendered, a heart that is tender
Lips full of truth and a life that honors You

When We’re Alone
Written By Nancy Seymour

The restless nights, the days are long
I want to sing, there are no songs
Concerns and circumstances of this life bombard me like a flood
I am helpless and confused until I spend my time with God

(chorus)
When we’re alone, just You and me
Sweet, fragrant Rose of Sharon, You fulfill Your promise to sustain
One single breath provides the strength I need to live in perfect peace
When we’re alone, just You and me

I praise You, Lord in everything
You give me joy and songs to sing
For all eternity my voice will praise the Power of the Blood
Transforming strength out of my weakness when I spend my time with God

(chorus)

You are sustainer, You’re the life of my existence
There’s no real joy, there’s no true life without Your Presence

(chorus)

You Reign
Written By Nancy Seymour

The vastness of the ocean speaks Your Name
The flowers and the birds, the sun, the mountain peaks proclaim
Your sovereignty, Your majesty

(chorus)
You reign oh God on high
The earth and all therein testify
You reign oh sovereign God
Holy Father, Spirit Son, God You reign

The proof in my existence speaks Your Name
And all that is within me, and my very life proclaims
Your sovereignty, Your majesty

(chorus)

Holy, Holy, Holy
Lord, God Almighty
God in Three Persons
Blessed Trinity

(chorus)

Blessings and Honor, Glory and Power to You
All the saints sing it
Blessings and Honor, Glory and Power to You
All the saints sing it
Blessings and Honor, Glory and Power to You
All the saints sing it
Blessings and Honor, Glory and Power to You

You are the Lord
Written By Nancy Seymour

I’d heard it all before
There were many songs about You throughout the ages
I was tempted to ignore
All the stories I had read that were on the pages
Of Your Word, I would say that there is just no way
So I settled for less
But now I must confess

(chorus)
You are the Lord, You’re the keeper of promises
Fulfiller of dreams, You’re the prayer for the hopeless
You meet my needs, You prove over and time again
That upon Your Words I can still depend
And forever, You are the Lord

I’ve seen it all before
All the many times You’ve helped me out of my troubles
I simply can’t ignore
All the benefits that I’ve found, now that I’m covered
By Your Blood, I would say that You’re truly the way
To be perfectly blessed
So now I must confess

(chorus)

You created the world  then You breathed into man
Then You died for my sins
Now I understand

(chorus)

Enough
Written By Nancy Seymour

Well, I wonder if I could recall all the days
I tried to show my love for you
Can I count the ways?
And I wonder if I could recall all the times
I sat beside your bed to watch you sleep
Oh so many nights

But it’s never enough
The little time we have
To walk upon the sand
To hold each other’s hand
To feel the wind across our face
To hug and to embrace our families with love
Oh no, it’s never enough

Well, I wonder if I could recall all the stars
We took the time to stop and point them out
Oh they seemed so far
And I wonder if I could recall all the tears
We cried of sorrow and we cried of joy
Over all the years

But it’s never enough
The little time we have
To walk upon the sand
To hold each other’s hand
To feel the wind across our face
To hug and to embrace our families with love
Oh no, it’s never enough

Well, I wonder, how I wonder what you’ll be like when I’m gone
Will find the inner power and the strength to carry on
Yeah

God is enough
He’ll even stop your pain
He’ll take you through the storm
He’ll protect you from the rain
When your nights are long and cold
He’ll be there to hold you in his Arms of Love
Oh, yeah
God is enough

Jesus Be My Compass
Written By Nancy Seymour

Lord, You know my disposition
And You know my tendencies
It’s my natural inclination
To depend on my abilities
But I believe I’ve crossed the borders
Now I’m in un-chartered waters
And I’m desperate for You to take control

Jesus, be my compass
Navigate my life's course
Altering the path I was on before
Be the wind inside my sail
Without You I’m bound to fail
I’m surrendering the oars
Guide me safe into the shore

Lord forgive my hesitation
To give You all there is of me
I suppose that I should mention
That it’s a product of my frailty
But I’m giving You control now
And deep inside I know that somehow
I’ll have peace with You as captain of my soul

Jesus, be my compass
Navigate my life's course
Altering the path I was on before
Be the wind inside my sail
Without You I’m bound to fail
I’m surrendering the oars
Guide me safe into the shore

Guide me O Thou Great Jehovah

Jesus, be my compass
Navigate my life's course
Altering the path I was on before
Be the wind inside my sail
Without You I’m bound to fail
I’m surrendering the oars
Guide me safe into the shore

Inconceivable
Written By Nancy Seymour

There are times that I try
With everything that’s inside
To live a life worthy of the call
It amazes me still
When You show me You will
Pick me up every time that I fall

Your Grace is undeniable
Your Love is unconditional
Your Thoughts are inconceivable
Of what You have in store for me
Lord, I receive it
Lord, I receive it

There are times that I try
With everything that’s inside
To understand the real depth of Your Mind
It amazes me still
As I’m learning Your Will
How You’re always the same all the time

Your Grace is undeniable
Your Love is unconditional
Your Thoughts are inconceivable
Of what You have in store for me
Lord, I receive it
Lord, I receive it

Undeniable, unconditional, inconceivable

Lover of My Soul
Written By Nancy Seymour

It’s hard to live in purity in a world where everywhere we see
Images of plain depravity, it’s such a shame
It’s hard to live in holiness in a world that’s become quite a mess
What is wrong is right, it’s all become a foolish game
But I know where to go when my defenses are down
I will run to the One who is my Savior

I will reach out to the lover of my soul
I will reach out to the lover of my soul
I will reach out to the lover of my soul
Fulfillment I will find, satisfaction so divine
From the lover of my soul

Let me live my life everyday walking in Your Light and in Your Grace
At the end of it all, I can say I made it through
I can hardly wait for that point in time when I’ll walk with You
Your hand in mine and You’ll look me in the eyes and say
“Child, well done You”
What a day that will be, when eternally I will be with the One who
Is my Savior

I will reach out to the lover of my soul
I will reach out to the lover of my soul
I will reach out to the lover of my soul
Fulfillment I will find, satisfaction so divine
From the lover of my soul

I’ll find truth and mercy, understanding, grace, compassion and all that I need

I will reach out to the lover of my soul
I will reach out to the lover of my soul
I will reach out to the lover of my soul
Fulfillment I will find, satisfaction so divine
From the lover of my soul

Wonderfully Made
Written By Nancy Seymour

I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
And my heart knows it
My heart knows it

When I’m weary and unsatisfied with what I have become
Feeling lost inside and I need a guide to gently lead me home
I’ll remember who I am and who my life comes from
I’ll take solace in the message of this psalm

I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
And my heart knows it
My heart knows it

When I’m unafraid and I’m confident in who I have become
Feeling full inside for I have a guide who safely brings me home
I’ll remember who I am and who my life comes from
I will glory in the message of this psalm

I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
I will praise You for I am fearfully and wonderfully made
And my heart knows it
My heart knows it

Marvelous are thy works
Glorious are thy works
Beautiful are thy works
And my heart knows it

Marvelous are thy works
Glorious are thy works
Beautiful are thy works
And my heart knows it
And my heart knows it
And my heart knows it
My heart knows it

Nothing Satisfies
Written By Nancy Seymour

Reaching out for the things of this world
‘cause I thought that it would make me better
But once achieved, I would soon find out
The emptiness still remains

Nothing satisfies like You, Lord
Nothing thrills my heart like You, Lord
In desperation I cry out
You remove my fears and doubts
And You comfort and breathe life in me again
Again

Reaching down to the sons of the earth
You left the home of Your Father
And when You came, You brought peace to the earth
And Your peace in me now remains

Nothing satisfies like You, Lord
Nothing thrills my heart like You, Lord
In desperation I cry out
You remove my fears and doubts
And You comfort and breathe life in me again
Again

Nothing satisfies like You

(Repeat)

All Encompassing God
Written By Nancy Seymour

If I search the deepest archives of words
To see if I could find just one that I haven’t heard
That’s been used by any other, O bright Morning Star
To so many You have been so much
Can I tell of who You are?

You’re an All-encompassing God
You’re an All-encompassing God
You’re an All-encompassing God
God with us to the end of the age

If I search the deepest parts of Your Word
And read about the stories I’ve already heard
You were there for brother Joshua in bringing down the wall
And sister Rahab said You’re a God who’ll save the vilest of us all

You’re an All-encompassing God
You’re an All-encompassing God
You’re an All-encompassing God
God with us to the end of the age

Deliverer, Protector, Provider, Sustainer
Creation, Foundation, Salvation, Liberation

You’re an All-encompassing God
You’re an All-encompassing God
You’re an All-encompassing God
God with us You are You are

You’re an All-encompassing God
You’re an All-encompassing God
You’re an All-encompassing God
God with us You are You are You are You are
You are You are You are You are
You are You are You are You are
You are You are You are—You are . . .

God of it All
Written By Nancy Seymour

When the struggles of my life are great
Sometimes I start to wonder
Will I even make it through the day
Lord, help me to remember

(chorus)
You are God in my storm
You are God in the calm
You are God of the light
And You’re still God in the night
You are God to the weak
You’re the God who will keep
You are God to the strong
You’re the God of my song
You are God of it all

As I live my life from day to day with these witnesses around me
Let my life reflect Your sovereignty, let it be my testimony

(chorus)

Who else can heal?
Who else can draw a spring out of a rock?
Who else can mend the broken heart?
Who else?  Only God!

(chorus)
I Have Called You by Your Name
(Isaiah 43)
Written By Nancy Seymour

There are times when there’s a struggle way deep inside
There’s a battle over what to do, the wrong or the right
In those times of my confusion, I sometimes turn away
But You gently lead me back to You and say, You say

(chorus)
I have called you by your name and you are Mine
And the heritage I’ve given you, it extends beyond all time
I have created you, formed you into a masterpiece of my design
I have called you by your name and you are Mine
I have you called you by your name and you are mine

There’ll be times you’ll face the rivers, I know you will
I am He who has the power to tell the waves be still
In the times you face the fire, child have no fear
I will speak the words in love you need to hear

(chorus)

Although I’m the King of Kings and Lord of Lords
The God of Power and Might
Father of Love I am, my child
And you are precious in my sight

I have called you by your name

(chorus)
Just Like You
Written By Nancy Seymour

Standing there holding his mother
John must have looked at the cross
He might have said, “You’re my oldest brother”
Why must You suffer such pain and loss

But to love is just like You
To give is just like You
To save is just like You, Jesus
And to offer Your own life for our redemption
Is just like You

Thinking how You’ve extended
Your blood, a covering for my sin
And all the times I refused and rejected
And crucified You again and again

But to love is just like You
To give is just like You
To save is just like You, Jesus
And to offer Your own life for my redemption
Hallelujah, what a Savior!

To love is just like You
To give is just like You
To save is just like You, Jesus
And to offer Your own life for my redemption
Is just like You
To offer Your own life for my redemption
Is just like you
To offer Your own life for my redemption
Hallelujah, what a Savior

Speak Life
Written By Nancy Seymour

"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me", is a statement I just never understood
We are different in our own ways
But altogether lovely
So why do people use their words to hurt
Each other when you could

(Chorus )
Speak love, speak peace, speak hope to your brother
Speak truth, speak right, speak well to each other
And when you face the choices will you do what's right
And speak life? Speak life!

Now if words are used for building up
You can bet they can bring down
I believe that is a universal law
Well, it might help if we remember that
What goes, it comes around and we could
Chose to do things different than some who've gone before and

(chorus)
Speak love, speak peace, speak hope to your brother
Speak truth, speak right, speak well to each other
And when you face the choices will you do what's right
And speak life? Speak life!

Well I never would have guessed it
and I guess I never knew
that what we say could seperate
the whole world through and through, so

(chorus )
Speak love, speak peace, speak hope to your brother
Speak truth, speak right, speak well to each other
And when you face the choices will you do what's right
And speak life? Speak life!
Sing Over Me
Written By Nancy Seymour

Day after day I lift my voice in praise to You
I sing glory hallelujah, bless Your Name, I love You too
But I cannot help but wonder, Lord, I cannot help but think
How amazing it would be for you to let the heavens ring and

Sing over me
Sing over me
Sing over me Almighty God
Sing over me
Sing over me
Sing over me Almighty God

Day after day, I long to hear Your gentle voice
And I try to live my life that it would cause You to rejoice
May I live apart from sin and all the things that can destroy
May I live in sweet surrender to Your will and bring You joy . . so You would

Sing over me
Sing over me
Sing over me Almighty God
Sing over me
Sing over me
Sing over me Almighty God

You are the one
Written By Nancy Seymour

So many questions, when will you settle down
You know life is short, it quickly fades away
Will you get yourself together, will you put it off another day
The only answer that I’d offer are these words I’m gonna say

(Chorus 1)
I’m waiting for the one
The only one for me
And when we come together then my life will be complete
I’m waiting for the one
Who’ll stand by my side
When no one else is there for me
They’ll me it’s alright
I’m waiting for the one
I’m waiting for the one

So many questions where have you been all my life
Can you see I know that it’s been worth the wait
Can we get ourselves together
We can’t put it off another day
Am I making my intentions clear with these words I’m gonna say

(chorus 2)
You are the one
The only one for me
And now that we’re together, my life is complete
You are the one
You stand by my side
When no one else is there for me
I know I’m still alright
‘cause you are the one
You are the one

I’ve waited for the longest time
Seemed like eternity
But there is no denying you and I are meant to be

(chorus 2)
